Víctor Casadesús

Víctor Casadesús is Real Mallorca through and through. The striker was born and raised in Palma and came through the youth ranks at the club before signing for the Real Mallorca B team in the summer of 2003.

Víctor, along with Iván Ramis, has been one of the few constants in what has been an ever-changing squad on the island. The constant turnover of personnel has meant Víctor has twice been on loan spells away from the club in between stints in the Mallorca first team. But as the club enters its new era, the Spaniard seems to be as key to the club as ever under the leadership of, first Laudrup, and then Caparrós.

Víctor made his first team debut in April 2005 when he was a part of the Mallorca team that drew 0-0 with Valencia. From there, Víctor began to establish himself as a squad player within the first team. But in January 2008, he went to Real Sociedad on a six month loan deal.

The loan deal proved successful with Víctor netting 6 goals in 19 appearances helping win the Basque side promotion to La Liga. It wasn’t enough to convince Head Coach Gregorio Manzano of his worth to the first team, though, and so Víctor found himself back out on loan for the next campaign.

Víctor spent the 2008/2009 season in Catalonia with Segunda División outfit Gimnàstic. That move proved successful too with Víctor scoring 13 goals in 36 games, a personal record.

The Spaniard returned to the island for Manzano’s hugely successful, and what turned out to be final, campaign. Used as a back up to Aritz Aduriz, Víctor still managed to help the team come from behind to beat Rayo Vallecano in January 2009 with a brace.

Under Laudrup, Víctor found himself used as a squad player again, behind the wantaway Pierre Webó. But under Joaquín Caparrós he has established himself as the preferred striker fighting off competition from new signings Marvin Ogunjimi and Tomer Hemed.
