Wolves target Pedro Geromel joins Real Mallorca

Wolves target Pedro Geromel has joined La Liga side Real Mallorca on a four year loan deal from German side FC Köln. Mallorca have first refusal on the centre-back, but at the end of each season there is the option for him to return to Köln.

The Brazilian had been a target of English Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers, who had reportedly offered £3 million for the player. But after days of trying to iron out finer details, the 26-year-old finally signed on the dotted line of Real Mallorca in one of the more complicated deals that will take place in Europe this summer.

Geromel is expected to be first choice centre back alongside club captain José Nunes with fellow new signing Anderson Conceição acting as their understudy. It is not yet clear whether Caparrós intends to throw Geromel in at the deep end by giving him his debut in two days time against Málaga, or whether he will give him time to settle on the island first.
