Mallorca in talks with Sevilla defender Luna

Real Mallorca and Sevilla have started dialogue over the potential transfer of 21-year-old left back Antonio Luna to the island. Both Director of Football Llorenç Serra Ferrer and Head Coach Joaquín Caparrós agree that Luna is the ideal replacement for Pablo Cáceres and have made him the primary target.

Luna is only used as a squad player in Seville, making just 14 appearances last term, and will be out of contract with the club next summer. But despite this, negotiations with Club President José María del Nido are often difficult as Mallorca discovered last summer in the signing of Alejandro Alfaro.

The 21-year-old was actually born in Mallorca, in a north-eastern town named Son Servera, where his parents were only temporarily working as casual labourers on the island. After working his way through the Sevilla cantera, he made his first team debut in 2010 before spending 2011 on loan at Almeria. His 14 appearances last term included 11 starts.
