Real Mallorca B 2-0 Orihuela
Real Mallorca B secured an important three points against high flying Orihuela in an attempt to climb out of the Segunda División B Grupo III relegation zone. Two goals from first team fringe players Sergi Enrich and Tomás Pina in the 33rd and 37th minute secured the points.
On a chilly day at La Ciutat Esportiva Sergi gave Mallorca the lead when he battled past the Orihuela defence to slot into the keepers right hand corner on 32 minutes. Sergi Enrich was up there again on 37 minutes when Orihuela poorly defended a free-kick, but it was Tomás Pina who latched onto the end of it to make it 2-0 and give the B team some comfort.
Mallorca didn’t start the second half well, and when a strike from Manrique looked destined for the goal, you wondered if it might end up being one of those days. But an outstretched hand from Tomeu meant he could just turn it wide for a corner. And just moments later, Florian just couldn’t quite reach a cross that needed just a touch to turn it in.
Real Mallorca hung on for victory which means they are now just four points behind local rivals Atlético Baleares who are in the relegation play-off place in 16th.
