PSG swoop for Ramis

French side Paris St Germain have their eyes set on Real Mallorca defender Iván Ramis to bolster their defence. The Sa Pobla-born defender was twice linked with Scottish side Celtic last season and was on the verge of signing before the deal fell through. Now it looks like he is France-bound despite the 5-year-deal he signed in the summer.

Ramis’ progress has not gone unnoticed and his market valuation has increased with his reputation over the years. He also received alot of interest in the summer from clubs such as Espanyol, Villarreal and Sevilla.

Despite Laudrup’s recent claim that he doesn’t want to weaken the squad further, the sale of Ramis is still a tempting one. His low buyout clause of just £5m could take the call out of the club’s hands, but even if Ramis were to leave, they still have captain José Nunes as well as Rubén Gonzalez and Martí Crespí.
