Laudrup demands away improvement

Mallorca coach Michael Laudrup feels his side must improve away from home following their 3-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao at San Mames.

David Lopez fired the hosts in front before the interval before a rather fortuitous penalty given against Nunes for handball allowed Mikel San Jose the chance to double los Leones lead and they added a third in stoppage time with Inigo Perez scoring from close range.

“It’s one thing having the ball but it’s another thing to make use of it and that’s something we have to work on away from home. I don’t think we are missing too much, just a bit of conviction in the last 20 metres, which is where the goals come,” he was quoted as saying by AS.

“Whether it’s 2-0 or 3-0 does not change anything. It is obvious that we still have work to do away from home but this has just begun. Now, we are all angry, but we start again on Thursday and have to think that we have another big game at home against Real Sociedad.”
