Kevin: “We have to go to beat Barça”

Kevin García has become an important player for Real Mallorca in recent weeks. The young defender, formed in the lower regions of the Spanish football leagues, was called into action after injuries to Enrique Corrales and Ayoze. Kevin acknowledged that he was “very happy” after his debut, but is intent on keeping his feet on the ground.

“I just have to be thankful that the manager trusts me. Little-by-little I’ll be improving and giving more.”

There were even calls last season from Mallorca fans, even before the summer cull, that Kevin should be given a chance in the first team.

And on talk of the visit to the Camp Nou, Kevin stated that “Barcelona are one of the best teams in the world. But we must go to win and try to surprise everyone. It will be hard, but we will try. There is no fear there.”
