Pereira agrees new deal

Frenchman Michael Pereira has put rumours to rest and has agreed a four-year deal with Mallorca worth £3,200 per week. Pereira has impressed in pre-season and has attracted the attention of Premier League sides Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion.

Pereira’s agent sent the rumours wild when claiming Pereira, currently on an amateur contract, was not offered a contract and so had to take out a bank loan. It later emerged that a deal had been offered but Pereira’s agent was holding the club to ransom over a £415,000 agent fee.

Pereira’s deal, despite being agreed, is not yet final though as it needs to be counter signed by the club’s administrators. But this is expected within the next couple of days.
