sc Heerenveen 4-0 Real Mallorca

Michael Laudrup saw his first defeat as manager of Real Mallorca in a convincing 4-0 defeat to sc Heerenveen. The positives drawn from the match include De Guzman showing glimpses of his ability. He’s a player who will bring vision, touch and speed to the team. But on the whole, it was a disappointing afternoon of the Balearic Islanders.

It took just three minutes for Ivan Ramis to put the ball in his own net. Heerenveen added a second and third in the 34th and 36th minute respectively to give an unjust scoreline of 3-0. Mallorca faired better in the second half, but with a lack of fitness and fatigue adding up, Heerenveen poured salt into the wound by adding a fourth.

As well as De Guzman – Marti, Pina and Nsue all put in decent performances. Pina and Nsue have gone some way on the pre-season tour of affirming their place in the team come the start of the season. It wasn’t a day to remember for Castro, Webo or Pau Cendros though.
