Nadal returns to club

Former Spanish international Miguel Angel Nadal will return to football in Mallorca as Michael Laudrup’s number two. On the first day of his new job, Nadal stated that he was “looking forward” to the next stage of his professional career.

“I’ve always had the desire to teach and learn,” the former defender said. “I’ve worked with [Laudrup] before. He is a former team mate and a nice person. He has a philosophy of attractive football and so hopefully we can have a good season.”

When asked about the Nadal family’s involvement in the Serra Ferrer buyout of the club, Nadal stated that only he and perhaps Rafael Nadal will be a part of the project.

Defender Ivan Ramis expressed his delight at the Nadal signing. “We are proud to have Nadal on the sidelines because I always noticed him as a player and he is now a luxury with Laudrup as manager.”
