Mattioni released

Felipe Mattioni’s childish protests have worked. Real Mallorca have agreed to waive any rights they have over the Brazilian and he has been released from his contract.

A club spokesman stated that this solution “was the best for both parties and whilst the outcome isn’t so positive, it’s best that the player doesn’t continue at the club”.

Mattioni refused to return to pre-season training at the club despite only signing on a permanent contract in the summer. It is unknown whether the first of three installments totalling £850,000 for player will be returned to the club.
