Mallorca for Europa League

There was a welcome invitation that arrived on the desk of Lorenzo Serra Ferrer recently. One that allowed him to attend the draw of the UEFA Europa League. And coupled with an update to UEFA’s site, Real Mallorca is all but confirmed to be a part of the competition in August.

The second deadline set by UEFA for a decision was the draw today (16th July), and with the invitation not being extended to club officials at Villarreal, Mallorca can be very confident now.

The club aren’t home and dry yet though, it is still unclear why UEFA have yet to send a delegate to the ONO Estadi for a stadium inspection – something which is necessary to take part in any UEFA competition.
