Javi Guerra joins Real Valladolid
Real Valladolid has reached an agreement with Real Mallorca over the transfer of striker Javi Guerra. The player was a key part of the Levante team that go promoted to La Liga last season and has gone on to sign a 4-year-deal with the Valladolid.
After starting his career at Motril and Cadiz, the Andalucian striker was signed in 2004 by Valencia. He went on to score 57 goals in 3 seasons in Los Ché’s B team which convinced the powers that be to give him two league games in the first team.
With a lack of first team opportunities at Valencia, he found himself released in June 2007. He joined Granada 74 of Liga Adelante on a free transfer. His 8 goals did nothing to save the club who were relegated, and he subsequently signed for Real Mallorca in the summer of 2008. He was sent on loan to Alaves for the 2008/2009 season where he scored 9 goals but again suffered the same fate of relegation. Before a more successful term on loan last year where he scored 12 goals and helped Levante to promotion.
The 28-year-old’s 4-year-deal involves clauses which see Mallorca receive a fee should Real Valladolid be promoted back to the top flight as well as a buy back clause.
