Aduriz joins Valencia
Valencia have announced that they have reached an agreement with Mallorca to take striker Aritz Aduriz to the Mestalla. The 29-year-old forward is currently in Sweden on pre-season duty with the Barralets but will fly to Valencia to complete a medical and other formalities tomorrow (Thursday).
“He is a different striker in Spanish football, scores goals, works hard and makes a contribution to the collective game and gives us a profile of a striker who up to now we have not had. Hopefully it will be finalised, we are very pleased and I think we have completed an extensive squad, competitive and with many variables,” technical secretary Braulio Vazquez told valenciacf.com.
Aduriz was reportedly the subject of a £4.5 million bid from Turkish giants Fenerbahce but Marca has claimed that los Che will pay just £3.3 million to secure his release from the Balearic side. After agreeing to lower wage demands, Aduriz’s transfer to Valencia has progressed swiftly and he will become the club’s sixth summer signing and their last if reports are to be believed.
