Judge supports Mallorca’s European place

The head of Commercial Court in Palma de Mallorca Maria Encarnación González López has told the RFEF to “refrain from any proceeding” that will prevant the Island club from competing in Europe next season because of the revenue that it’ll generate for the club.

González López stated that the license granted on the 14th May, prior to the club being declared bankrupt, will be a “massive source of income, guaranteeing the rights of creditors and assures the continuity of the activity of the club, which should not be affected by the declaration of insolvency”.

The Spanish Football Federation has a period of five days to appeal against the order. Mallorca were declared insolvent last May after debts spiralled to around £45m owed to over 300 creditors.
