Islanders chase German Denis

Argentinian attacker Germán Gustavo Denis appears to be on his way out of Serie A side Napoli as Europa League hopefuls Real Mallorca have shown an interest in signing the striker, according to a report in Corriere dello Sport.

Denis appears to be surplus to requirements at Napoli and is widely expected to leave the club this summer in order to get regular first team football elsewhere in the 2010-11 campaign. Mallorca are keen to add a new attacker to their squad in light of the possible departure of Aritz Aduritz and the Liga side supposedly see the 28-year-old Denis as the perfect replacement.

However, it appears highly unlikely that Mallorca will be able to meet Napoli’s asking price for the striker. The Spanish side are being plagued by financial problems.  Mallorca could decide to make a loan move for Denis though with an option to make the move permanent in 2011.
