Manzano: “We are not afraid of Real”

Mallorca coach Gregorio Manzano has insisted his side will not running scared when they host Real Madrid tomorrow night.

“We do not feel any anxiety,” he told a press conference. “We must look Real Madrid right in the face. For me we are the favourites because I believe in Mallorca and I have faith that we will win, but Real will not make it easy.”

While Real Madrid are chasing Barcelona for the La Liga title, Mallorca have their own league aspirations to worry about. The Barralets sit in fourth place, two points ahead of Sevilla, and are on course to qualify for the Champions League.

“My dream is to win, but I know that soon we will have a bad night.”

Finally, the coach emphasised the importance of his side maintaining their shape in order to nullify Real’s ability to hit them on the break.

“We have to play a complete game, perform both in attack and defence. With good shape, Real Madrid cannot surprise us from those transitions from defence to attack that they launch with power and quality.”
