Birmingham chase Aouate
Premier League outfit Birmingham City are closely monitoring experienced shot stopper Dudu Aouate at Real Mallorca, according to a number of reports from Spain.
The English side are in the market for a new man between the sticks due to the expected return of current first choice goalkeeper Joe Hart to Manchester City at the end of the season and Birmingham supposedly see Aouate as the perfect replacement.
The 32-year-old Aouate joined Mallorca from Deportivo La Coruna in January 2009 and has since become an important first team member. The glovesman has played an important role in his side’s successful La Liga campaign so far.
Aouate’s current contract with the Spanish side is due to expire in the summer of 2011. Mallorca are keen to hold on to the Israeli international, but they could be tempted to cash in on Aouate if an offer in the region of £2.1 million comes in.
