This is realmallorca.co.uk – an independent website set up in March 2010 to provide English speaking fans of RCD Mallorca the tools to build a community.

We started with just news posts and attempted to build the website up from there, filling it with information which would be useful to any fan. The likes of Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, Santa-Ponsa.com and NewsNow helped publicise the website which resulted in viewing figures like we didn’t expect for our first full season.

In our first full season, we received 26,821 unique visitors from 156 different countries and many different languages. This amount of people meant we would’ve sold out Son Moix! And as of August 2011, Alexa ranked us as the 149,780th most visited website in the UK. All in just a year.

Now for the 2011/2012 season, we have launched this new website. We certainly hope you feel the design is better. But at the very least, we wanted to clear up the information hierarchy. Hopefully the website should now be much easier to navigate. And we hope that, as we make the community aspect a more prominent feature, we manage to breathe life into it.

Any time a news article is posted, a link will automatically be posted to our Twitter and Facebook accounts. In addition, any ‘news in brief’ stories will be posted to our Twitter feed as they happen, and then collated for one single post every Monday.

We’d like to extend our thanks to RCD Mallorca blogs RCDM.es and Futbol desde Mallorca. Both websites are very insightful and, indeed, this is passed on to you.

We’d also like to say thank you to Diario de Mallorca and Futbol Balear for the insight they give to RCD Mallorca, as well as national media outlets AS and Marca who provide us with a certain amount of Mallorca coverage.
