RCD Mallorca wanted to present two new signings in a memorable place: the terraces of the Palma Cathedral (Spanish: Catedral de Santa María de Palma de Mallorca, aka: La Seu). So, with one of the most majestic views and in one of the most magical places in Palma, Antonio Raíllo and Roberto Santamaría were officially unveiled as bermellone players.
Santamaría expressed satisfaction in coming to the island club and made clear that “there is no reason to create long term goals, rather, what you have to do is work hard now, and from there you will see results.” It is Santamaría’s tenth season as a professional and he is convinced that he can contribute to the team “I know the category, the professionalism, and the amount of work that is needed.”
As for Antonio Raíllo, one of the gems of the Espanyol cantera, he confirmed that Javier Recio’s arrival at the club did support his decision to come to Mallorca, but he was already very excited by the project. The Córdoba defender comes with assurance and desire, “I want to contribute, I want to work every day and be able to grow with the team.”
Both players were left in awe of the way the club presented them and mentioned that they had never been part of such a special and unique ceremony.
